I tried to go online yesterday but the internet was down. Supposedly, they’re preparing to hook up to a new fiber-optic cable in Majuro, and to do so, they’ve had to cut off service here (hopefully for not too long). The scheduled switch was for today, the first of the month. Morgan and I think this sounds more like an elaborate April fool’s joke than anything else. We’d like to think that this will give us blazingly fast internet here on Jaluit, but in reality, it’s not supposed to make much of a difference. We’re still 150+ miles away from that new cable.
